Gestational Diabetes with Insulin Use
I currently do not have a diagnosis. I was pre-diabetic before my last pregnancy and had gestational diabetes with insulin use and now I am having symptoms of low blood sugar, quesy stomach, thirsty, some days with head aches, and spots in my eyes sometimes, and heels that are cracked so bad it hurts to walk on them and they never seem to heal. I went to my doctor and she did an A1c on me and a fasting draw and both came back normal. I don't even have pre-diabetes anymore according to the test. However, I noticed today I took my blood sugar and it was 168 and another at 148 again. So I don't know if I should contact her again and just ask. Plus on top of it I'm worried about my toddler. He drinks all the time and has poor weight gain. They say he is failure to thrive. He looks healthy other than the growth and the drinking. He eats really well but has to drink 2 pediasures a day to keep gaining. The moment he is taken off of it he loses again. I took his blood sugars for the past 2 weeks. His fastings are pretty good with only one big high of 130. The rest are usually between 100-110. His other 2 hours have been anywhere from 126-196 with the last few days have crept higher being 168, 184, and 194. I've checked two randoms and they were 217 and 286. I've taken to his pediatrician and she isn't concerned. Maybe I shouldn't be either.
