Who needs to take diabetes more seriously

Hi, My name is Laura and I'm from Mo. USA! I was dx'd with Type 2 diabetes two years ago. I have been struggling with believing that I really have it since my numbers have almost always been under 200. I take Metformin twice a day. I know I am supposed to check my blood sugar twice a day too, but I'm lucky if I even remember to check it once a day. I need to take my diabetes more seriously, I know. I am really over weight and I also have a lot of other health problems. I have arthritis in my knees and ankles. I didn't think you could get arthritis until you were older. I'm 37 years old. I also have sleep apnea. I am supposed to have my machine on at night, but they have it set at such a high pressure. I just hate the machine. I am going to try and wear it more though. I have such a hard time with it. I really need some support and encouragement to take my diabetes more seriously. I guess the more information I get the more serious I will take it. I have been to a diabetes education class. There is a support group that meets here in town once a month that I am thinking about attending. Maybe that will get me motivated. I also have some emotional problems that makes things harder to deal with. I'm working on it though. I thought I'd come and see if I could get and give some support through this group.
