>Thank you so much I can't get in to my Dr's office in till July 8 MY other dr. has not done much with testing my. So i've been looking for a new DR. I'm so upset with myself I thought because I was eating right cut all sweet out, taking me meds right, that every thing would be find. Now I don't know what to do.<
Remember that cutting out "sweets" is only the tip of the problem-- the most obvious no-no kind of food. Until you see your doc, do your best to cut way down on the overall amount of carbohydrates you eat, and make sure never to drink your carbs (no fruit juice, no energy drinks, no sugar in coffee or tea or anything else liquid).
Cut way back on the amount of bread, cereal, rice, potato, corn, peas, beets, limas and other beans you eat.
For now, eat about half what you usually put on your plate-- you can always go back for more, but try for now to really cut down your portion sizes on everything. It's okay to eat whole fruit, but for now, not more than 3 servings a day, and make them *small*-- the equivalent of about a half cup each, and spread over the day. Watch foods with gravy and sauces because lots of carbs hide in those. For now, eat simply, eat small, and eat smart. Try that, and see if it makes some difference in your numbers. Try to add a little movement to your days, too. Your blood sugars are high enough, you probably shouldn't do much vigorous exercise until your doc says it's okay, but something as simple as some easy walking in place in front of your TV, swinging your arms, maybe for 5 or 10 minutes, 2 or 3 times a day, might make a big difference. Let us know how you're doing, okay?
