Diabetes runs in our family. Out of the living brothers and sisters my mom has, she is the only one that hasn't been diagnosed with diabetes. But she had me check her blood sugars last night and this morning. She is such a baby about testing that I was very surprised she wanted me to. She started "ouch"ing and moaning in pain while I was getting out the lancet. I hadn't even touched her yet. LOL
Last night she tested 208 a couple of hours after eating dinner. Afterward she told me she had just eaten a handful of sunflower seeds. I did check her blood sugars this morning when she woke up. She was at 109. I got diagnosed through an regular AC1 test so I don't know if this 109 means she needs to take an AC1 test or not. With those numbers should she get tested?
I think over 200 for a "non" diabetic is too high, I would suggest she have an a1c test. The morning number may be a bit high too, especially given her history.
