Anybody controlling DM type 2 ?without medications

newly diagnosed 43 M... overweight /233 pounds,185 cm tall, is decreasing weight + a lot of exercise improve my condition? 2 months ago my Hb1c was 8.2 i hearcinnamon, funnygreek ,ginseng, chromium etc etc...can help with diet...any ideas?

Getting that A1c lowered is all about five basic things: eating healthy (especially no refined sugar and high fructose corn syrup), doing your best to do around 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week, taking any prescribed meds on time and in the right dosages, working hard to lose (and keep off) any excess weight, and keeping all routine appointments with your doctor and lab. Beyond that, all of those supplements you mentioned will probably not hurt you (run that past your doctor to be sure) but probably will not do much of anything to help your diabetes either.
