Diabetes: Medicine in America is expensive

My ex was a student of homeopathy. He used to say (don't know if it is true or not) that it was the primary treatment modality early on in the states and was kicked to the side by what we now consider normal medical care. It didn't work for me, maybe because I was always handling the pellets while helping him. I have seen it work for burns (cantharis, I think) on my daughter and one of her friends, and in a few other people. It is used a lot in England, from my understanding.

Like anything, alternative medical care can be filled with greedy and selfish people. I have a friend who is an acupuncturist who is a true healer - a nurse practitioner, chinese herbalist and acupuncturist. She listens and treats with all her western and eastern medical skills and knows what she can't treat and refers those folks to western doctors or other specialists. She's amazing.

I generally find most Osteopaths are better than most MD's. I find nurse practitioners better than MDs too. Nurses listen. Most Physicians' Assistants are too much like MDs and I won't go to one of them.

Medicine in America is expensive, symptom oriented and not prevention oriented. In countries where they focus on early education and prevention they pay far less for medical care. When I was in Australia the costs for medical care were dramatically lower and I found the medical providers there were every bit as good, and probably better, than most medical providers here. What we have is extremely expensive high-tech and lots of drugs to fix underlying problems largely created by a toxic environment and a lousy diet.

We can all stand constructive criticism. I listen to peers who tell me not to do this or that or to a client who tells me I'm not hearing what they're saying. We can all improve. I don't presume to know it all. I listen to clients and their beliefs about what the law is and get insight into them. They may be 100% wrong, but at least I understand their motivation and can explain why it won't work that way or that they've come up with a new interpretation that might sustain a challenge. I am an annoyance to most doctors, I fear.
