The meter mfrs know that happens and have only a few suggestions:
1. Use the control liquid to check the meter.
2. Check that strips are not expired, damaged.
2. Don't test more than once. :-}
This variance in numbers has happened to me so now I just use the first readout [unless too crazy]. If it's too bizarre I use my other meter and different strip, and a different finger for a retest. Doesn't happen often..very rare actually.
