Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
1/4 cup butter
2 garlic cloves -- peeled and chopped
1 large red onion -- peeled and minced
1 bunch fresh Italian parsley -- roughly chopped
1 pinch dried marjoram
salt and freshly ground pepper -- to taste
1/2 cup whipping cream
To serve: -- cooked pasta for 4 people
To serve: -- freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Melt butter in a deep pan and gently saute garlic and onion for 3 minutes. Do not allow them to burn. Add herbs, salt, pepper and cream and bring to a boil. Simmer 2-3 minutes. Toss pasta in a sauce and serve with grated Parmesan cheese on the side. Makes 4 servings. Red onions add a pretty pink color to this well-flavored sauce from Northern Italy. Serve with long pasta and a colorful mixed-green salad.
