This is a very interesting list, and I too have been struggling with fruit and veggies. They represent such substantial nutrition, yet most fruit send my BGL soaring. The 50 gram "portion" was funny though. Who would think to each only 1/3 of a peach? What would you do with the rest of it? And, only 2 spears of asparagas? Anyway, it was interesting to see. Susan>
This is only my opinion, and I am not a medical professional, so I'm just leaning on my own god-given horse sense here, I guess. But if someone can't eat a whole small apple or peach without their glucose "soaring", and only 2 spears of asparagus is all they can have at one time, well... wouldn't that person be better off taking some oral meds, Byetta, or even insulin, so they could live a normal life? *cringe* I know, I know, I hear ya, YMMV. Just thinking out loud here.
