Do any of you drink green tea diabetes?

Have been drinking green tea over 30 yrs. Had to switch to green tea bc discovered frequent heartburn was due to black tea. I can sometimes add a little oolong to green just for a taste change but avoid otherwise. Heartburn disappeared never to return. [May have to do with fact that black tea is more fermented than oolong or green.]

My favorite green tea is Japanese Sencha. Has a natural sweet taste and delicate floral/grassy taste. I make about a cup in the morning and use it all day to add a tbsp or so to hot water for cups of tea. Also add to icewater and icecubes for iced tea. I used to carry green tea bags in purse to use instead of restaurant black tea or while visiting...very few people had green tea available then. I carried a thermos of green tea everywhere. Sencha is available at coffee/tea stores and all Asian Markets and online vendors. Inexpensive and delicious. The tea bags are ok but the best flavor is with loose tea. Tea bags use 'dust' so that it brews quickly and so it lacks the body of the full leaves.

You can now get green tea mixed with added flavors...some are really good! Green Tea Ginger Peach is my favorite. Moroccan Mint is good. Can be combined with other greens such as Sencha etc..for a fuller body. Have Green+Pomegranate, Blueberry..in supermarket. Green tea should be brewed with water below boiling...less than 185 F...so boil water and let cool to right temp for that kind or catch sooner. If water is too hot tea will be bitter. All you want to know re brewing temperature.

I like Gunpowder which is more robust flavor. Young Hyson is good. Dragonwell is good. There is even a Double Bergamat Earl Green! [Very good flavor]. Now you can easily find green tea with ginseng and since became so popular there is green tea everything: soap, incense, candles, cleaning products, cologne, gum, lotions, etc etc.. It's supposed to have a 'natural' fluoride' and be good for teeth. Mb it works: I'm 81 and have my own teeth, can chew anything and can digest a truck tire. For a rare treat I tried some of the more xpensive greens, seduced by the raving descriptions. Couldn't taste a damn thing and if it didn't turn the water slightly green wouldn't have known it was tea at all. Pls excuse if this is more than you want to know about green tea..I am such an ardent fan that it's difficult to limit my enthusiasm.
