When first put on Metformin in January, I weighed 174 - my highest weight ever! Two weeks ago I was down to 162 "sometimes feel like my life is about food now." I'm seeing how things I would have taken for granted prior to diagnosis are now red flags for me....interesting living in my old world with my new me.
Congrats on all the good progress you've made in just two weeks, Marilyn. IMO it's all about our attitude; if we skip the pity party and go right to that place where our capable, adult, determined selves reside, it's amazing not only what we can accomplish but also what we can feel good about while we're working at it. The weight loss is great. Most of us here have weight and/or food issues, so we 100% understand everything you're going through. You've done well.
One thing you can do about the daily planning-prepping-cooking food grind is to do a lot of it in a concentrated couple of hours on a weekend day. A big salad can be made and stored in Tupperware in the fridge. Then cook two or three entrees that can be fridged or frozen-- you could even make your own microwave meals at a portion of the cost of the grocery store ones. A pot of veggie soup (which is practically a free food) can be made and divvied up into separate covered bowls and frozen. How are your blood glucose numbers? It's the one thing you didn't mention. Thanks so much for stopping by and giving us your nice report. It's good to hear you're doing so well.
