1 - As I see it you're now controlling you bg levels better, but are you still eating as much now as you were before lowering your A1c readings? No...I have reduced my carbohydrate count by 50%...and eat 50% less fat and protien as well...by doing this I lost 6 kgs in two weeks...but then failed to lose significantly more over the next two months.. Which is why I feel that my basal rate is too high..
2 - Also what kind of insulin are you using. I have used Humalog ever since it was put on the market..
3 - As for your basal rates, what are your rates now,
0:00 - 0.75u
3:00 - 1.5u
8:00 - 3.5u
12:00 - 1.9u
23:00 - 0.65u
and has it changed as you improved control? no
4 - bolus rates
1.0u per 10 grams of carb
1.0u per 30 units of blood sugar , and usual eating pattern.
6:00 Breakfast - 20 grams of carb
12:00 - Lunch - 20 grams of carb
18:00 - Dinner - 20 grams of carb
All meals eaten and prepared at home..No salt...No sugar..Only olive oil for cooking and buttering..Meat, fish, cheese or egg eaten once a day..Non-fat curd or milk twice a day..Tea....with nonfat, low carb vegetable snacks...once or twice a day..45 minute brisk walk on tread mill after breakfast everyday..
