Success to report for diabetics

Things are looking up. My A1c was 11.5 in January. Embarrassing. I was overeating, giving up and things were just not working right. So my PCP got after me and I got cracking. Here's what I changed. Found my Cozmo pump was inaccurate, and got a loaner pump to replace it. Started shooting enough insulin for everything I ate. Everything. Kept a journal on food, insulin, activity, and bg...so I could see problems etc. Found my digital food scale was not reliable, so got a manual one. Now a piece of bread is 2 oz, and it stays at 2 oz rather than being 1.50, or 2.25, of skipping around to be even more off. So my last A1c was, drum roll please.... 6 !! Right on the money as far as I'm concerned. And with better bgs the overeating is diminished quite a bit.

Now the last piece of the puzzle has fallen into place... I need to rotate my infusion site differently than the suggested practice. If I have it in my abdomen for 3 days then I need to move it far away to my arm or thigh for the next 3 days. I guess there is too much inflamation in the adjacent area for there to be good absorption if I use the suggested practice of moving a few inches away. Whew.... good to know !

I am getting a MiniMed Paradigm pump to replace the Cozmo ( Cozmo is going out of business) and will get the training next week. I'm glad to have solved the puzzles, and thanks for the help here along the way.
