Some diabetics (or anyone who suffers from any chronic condition) find that they need to put a psychologist on their medical team, someone to talk things out with (who's not emotionally involved as a friend or family member would be), to let us know when we're missing the mark or conversely when we're right on, to give us some good life coping skills.
When we're suffering from a medical problem for which there is no cure, we tend to forget that emotional and spiritual support is just as necessary as the physical care we know we need to get. No shame in being a diabetic, and no shame in asking for help to cope.
