Diabetes: Question for her husband's medications

My hubby has problems with the diabetic medicine and his insulin levels were way too high, so taking insulin wasn't an option and the medicines for reducing insulin makes him deathly ill. so his doctor put him on Byetta (which is an injectable drug) but it is not insulin. It has been the only drug out there that he can tolerate and it keeps his sugar intact better than anything else he has used. Believe me, he's been through them all!Just a suggestion to talk to your doctor about.

I'm glad to hear your husband is doing better on Byetta. It can certainly be an effective medication for a lot of type 2s. What do you mean by "medicines for reducing insulin"? I'm not familiar with anything like that. Maybe you meant medicine to reduce insulin resistance. Metformin? That med does make quite a few people pretty sick with nausea and diarrhea, especially when first taken. Is that what you meant?

Yes that was the drug. His doctor has since been monitoring people's insulin levels and said thta Ken's was the highest he's seen. Since that time, my hubby has been sick with other issues and as a result has lost some weight, so his insulin level has come down to something tolerable.
