Question about urinalysis doctor ordered

I went to the lab to have a lipid panel done and was surprised that they wanted a urine sample too. Because of my medical history, I am in a "cardiac risk management" group, and am tested every six months. You can log on to Kaiser's website and see your lab results as they come in (which is great), but so far nothing on the urinalysis. I assume it has to do with kidney function(spilling protein into the urine), but I also have CREATININE, SERUM, WITH GLOMERULAR FILTRATION RATE, and serum albumin tests done regularly because I take Methotrexate and Enbrel for my psoriatic arthritis. Does the urinalysis show something that blood tests don't? Thanks for any help any of you can give me.

The BUN and serum Ceatinine are good indicators of kidney health, Incidentally the glomular filtration rate is estimated from the serum creatinine based on a formula. You have to collect urine for 24 hours for a real creatinine elimination test. Urinalysis tells em a few more things. They will look for albumin, protein, blood, and casts in the urine. When this stuff is seen, it is a good indicator of early problems.
