Diabetes: The organic veggies from stores do not last long at all compared

Also noticed that the organic veggies from stores do not last long at all compared to others. That's why they started spraying and coating with wax. To improve shelf life. Same with the antioxidants like BHT that they add to products. I once bought some organic cornmeal and some regular cornmeal. The organic was rancid.

As with so much of life, it's a question of balancing. When you have the space, the best food is the food you can grow yourself. Then you can go out to the garden, pick it, and cook it right away. The problem is that most people can't do that, and in large parts of the country you can only do it for a few short months. I'm picking lettuce now, but that's about all, if you don't count the milkweed shoots. It's a 50-mile round trip for me to get to a farmers' market, so one has to balance the burning of all that gasoline vs the freshness of the food. And the sellers are limited by the same climate that limits me, although some of them do have greenhouses.
