Diabetes: Making produce last

I saw someone talking about produce from farmers markets lasting longer and just had to comment on green bags. I got some 'green bags', I am sure you have all seen them advertsed on TV, although I got mine at odd lots. And I have to tell you....they work! They really do keep produce fresh much much longer.

I thought about those. But then after reading about e coli in spinach and I am sure a lot of bacterial contamination we don't hear about, I decided I didn't like the idea of reusing the bags. I keep my produce in reusable (I wash them in the washing machine) mesh bags and my produce lasts longer than it does in plastic.
