Diabetes: Atkins Diet

When I was first diagnosed with Diabetes the plan my nutritionist gave me was awful in that it had too many carbs which meant for me that I was always hungry and over ate. When I discovered atkins I got terrific a1cs of 5.5 , lost weight and was never hungry but I felt deprived after a while. Now following atkins you eat great veggies spinach, salads, brussell sprouts, green beans , cabbage, broccoli, and those are great carbs!! I just like bread on occassion. For me for soome reason this fuels hunger in me and it is hard. I can eat 1200 calories a day and lose 3 pounds a week. Once I allow bread into my diet my weight loss slows down to half a pound a week plus I am always hungry. Even on Atkins I finally got to the point where I couldnt lose unless I counted calories too *sigh*.
