I'm staying away from citrus fruit, but I drink a lot of lowfat milk and it doesn't raise my BG appreciably. I guess it's YMMV, ay? YMMV plays a big part for everyone when figuring out what you can eat and what you can't eat. I can eat an orange or grapefruit with very little effect. I can also eat a handful of grapes, but just a couple of cherries sends my BG soaring into the 300's. It took months of eating and testing to find my "trigger foods". 18 months ago just half a banana sent me so high that I just don't even go near them now.
I've been eating different things and testing a couple hours afterin order to get a sense of what I can eat freely, what I can get away with in low quantities and what I can't touch.I'm sort of enjoying it actually. I mean, of course, I'd rather not have to, but since I do I have a kind of video game aesthetic about it all: how low can I get those numbers while still having the most fun food. I'm calling it "X Box Diabetes".
