Sunrise or dawn phenomenon

My wake up was 130 and before lunch was 67.No meds. Seems I go too low. Anyone have a thought on this.

67 is not too low if it's time to eat, and you're not busily going even lower. Many people's normal daytime glucose hovers around 65 to 85ish, with like a 20 point rise after eating. The 130 in the AM is a bit high, on the other hand. A small bedtime snack of 15 grams of carbs and a serving of protein sometimes will alleviate that higher AM number, which is called dawn or sunrise phenomenon. It happens when you haven't eaten for a long time and the liver releases glucose into the bloodstream, in an effort to make sure your brain and other vital organs are kept on an even keel. A non-diabetic' s pancreas would compensate for this extra glucose with a bit more insulin, but in a diabetic, that doesn't happen so readily. That small snack might actually cause your glucose to be more in control when first getting up.
