There are many different medicines which treat high blood pressure. I suggest you tell your doctor that you want one which doesn't affect your feet. Some doctors don't like to be questioned about their decisions, no matter how badly they are working out. Your doctor may say, "Sure, let's see what's available," but if he doesn't, keep in mind, it's not HIS feet which are at risk.
Here's a totally different approach for high blood pressure: I take xocai diabetic friendly chocolates. I took them originally because I thought they might affect my weight or my blood sugar. Didn't do a thing for them. BUT it did lower my blood pressure quite evidently. In fact, my weight went up 5 pounds, yet my blood pressure sank into completely normal, surprising everyone at Kaiser. Google xocai chocolates to find out more. The bad thing is a cost of about $100/month for the chocolates. The good thing is the chocolates don't taste badly though they're not as good as the sugary stuff. Xocai has pure coca and acai and bilberry I understand. No caffeine:)I should add that my BP was average about 147 over 85 or so. Definitely too high. Now it's less than 120 over about 57, best wishes.
