Diovan responsible for higher glucose readings?

Hi, My husband has type 2 diabetes plus a heart condition that might have been brought on by avandia as well as prostate cancer. He is now on glipizide and several meds for his heart and procrit. One med is Diovan for blood pressure that his cardiologist put him on. He has been having high glucose readings in the evening 2 hours after eating (last night it was 224) but good fastng readings in the a.m. This morning it was 84. So we were looking for some reason for the high evening readings and I read on the web on a page for "side effects" of Diovan that it can cause high glucose readings. Have any of you experienced that?

Seeing as he has never had a problem with his blood pressure and his primary is thinking of putting him on insulin, we would really like to eliminate all the possible reasons for the high glucose readings to see if we can eliminate the need for insulin. I have e-mailed our primary about this and he will get back to us promptly, but I am interested in your experiences.
