Diabetes: Did I say anything about refusing an A1c

Best thing to do is tell the doc you no longer want the lipid panel. You and he won't worry about numbers you do not have. I am serious here. Hmm... I guess we should also stop having A1c's done, and discontinue monitoring our glucose levels ourselves, then we won't have to worry about those numbers either. I'm going to continue my 7 - 10 glucose checks each day, and continue getting my lipids done annually and, as long as the 10 mg. of Lipitor I take each day continues to be well-tolerated by my body, I'll keep on with that as well, no matter how much I miss grapefruit. I know we all have the right, and the obligation to make our own decisions as to how we treat our own bodies, but I really don't understand why you've been putting so much energy into trying to convince everyone that none of us should be using statins or paying any attention to cholesterol testing.

Do what you want to do. I will not take a drug where the efficacy is only 1% or so and which causes so many side effects. It is nothing but a con game, and an expensive one at that. Did I say anything about refusing an A1c, or not testing? I test at least four times a day, often more, You engage here in a type of logical fallacy argumentation that is a mixture of misdirection and personal attack. But then in the final analysis there is no compelling reason to test lipids or to take stains, is there?
