It's possible you just didn't eat enough carbs at lunch and then when you went shopping, iirc that's what you were doing, you used up those carbs due to the activity. This happens to me. Always carry something snack-worthy with you in case you need to bump yourself up.
It's also possible your pancreas dumped insulin late in response to your lunch and sent you lower than you would normally be. I have had that happen to me at the gym .. when I didn't carb up enough for the activity.
Iirc, T2s lose their Phase 1 insulin response which can lead to a late insulin response. If it comes after you've hit your peak, then it can send you too low for you to be comfortable. I'm probably not explaining this clearly enough and hope someone else will help.
Bottom line .. if you're going to do activity after eating .. be sure you're carbed up enough .. even if it is just a trip around the grocery store. Been there; done that.
